A group of Filipino World War II veterans and their supporters converged at the National World War II Memorial in DC on April 10 for a brief wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the Fall of Bataan 65 years ago. Their presence caught the attention of many sightseers, including students on a field trip. Some of these curious onlookers learned a bit of history that day when told of the epic battle. One teenager eagerly joined the media in taking pictures. Turning to one of her friends a few minutes later, she asked: “Who are these people?”
