No, Jennifer was not on the front row

John Mayer, you were worth the bumper-to-bumper traffic, being soaked in the rain and having to walk barefoot on semi-paved road and mud. I was willing to sacrifice my newly purchased sandals for you. You came - and you delivered.

I'm talking about John Mayer's concert last Sunday (July 13) at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Not exactly the best concert venue I've been to, but that was easily overlooked the minute a visibly toned John Mayer took the stage. For some reason, Kevin forgot to mention to me that the concert was going to be held in an outdoor, Woodstock-ish setting, and not the indoor theater I was looking forward to. In short, I had the wrong shoes for the occasion.

But that was a minor hitch. John Mayer brought the music - and performance - the crowd was expecting. Now that I've seen him live, I have a lot more respect for this guy. I think classifying him as a pop star, as some have, is grossly understating this man's talent. Bottom line, I can't wait to see him perform again! Thank you, dear husband, for that wonderful night of music!

Now we brought Re'Sean to the concert because he is a huge fan as well. The downside to bringing a kid to an open-air concert that caters to a wide range of age groups is that you can't control what he might be exposed to. Teenagers = "let's rock on, dude!" = beer = ganja. Kevin had to call out a young man seated in front of us who was enjoying his reefer.

Here are a couple of photos from the concert:

Ripped abs, toned pecks, guitar monster and singer/songwriter par excellence - what more
could Jennifer ask for?

No, he wasn't half-naked all evening. Although I'm sure the female fans would have been
delighted by it.
