News that doesn't matter to the general public:
Women's Hairy Armpit Scares Michael Douglas Away
Michael Douglas has a phobia of women's hairy armpits. The Oscar-winning star, who is married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, claims his fears surfaced when he taught water-skiing during a summer break from school.
Michael is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "This is kind of silly, but I was just 16 and I just never thought women had hair under their arms. One summer I had this eastern European woman. It was a shock. It sticks in my mind." (www.celebritymania.com)
I feel you, Sir. I don't necessarily get the jitters but it's definitely one of those things I don't want to be looking at. Now, some people do prefer to go au nauturale. Remember Julia Roberts' infamous see-me-wave-see-my-hair-grow red carpet photo in 1999? Ms. Roberts might have scarred some "Pretty Woman" fanatics for life.
The other day, I was sitting at a bus stop right next to a woman who must have been in her early 20s. While trying to stress a point during a conversation with another girl, she raised her arm and exposed a very hairy armpit. Geez whiz! That was a little disturbing. I told my husband this and his only comment was, "I'm glad I'm not her husband."
I am getting into other people's business here but, come on, girls, spend a few minutes to pluck/shave those hairs off. Or steer clear of spaghetti strap shirts.
But then again, we saw this coming. Even the husband predicted this from the get-go. Really now, was there ever a time that Madame Gloria failed to disappoint us? Once again we have made a mockery of our justice system and pushed our supposed political maturity decades back. Will write more on this later when I get back from the FWN summit.
