We are now on our third day here in Illinois visiting the in-laws. The heat is surprisingly moderate, compared to when we came out here about the same time last year. Our flight from DC to Atlanta to St. Louis went without a hitch, although it felt like I was sleepwalking throughout the trip. With only three hours of sleep the day we left, I was teetering between being sleepy and cranky.
The reunion will officially kick off on Friday so the past couple of days were mostly spent relaxing and visiting a few shops around town. I have met my sister-in-law for the first time and she is just an awesome person. Her son (and the newest addition to the family), Jamin, is adorable and has been getting most of our attention. The fun part in being around the husband's family is hearing these little anecdotes about Kevin's storied childhood. Like rolling his little sister in a carpet, turning her into a mini-lumpia. Or how he terrorized his teachers - and classmates. Yup, he was quite a handful.
We have an overcast sky today and it looks like it's getting ready to rain. We have a few errands to run so I will catch up with you guys later. Most importantly, I have to separate Kevin from his computer and/or Blackberry. Cheers!
