Lives lost and remembered

At 9:37 a.m. on September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the western wall of the Pentagon. The horrific attack killed 184 people, and the youngest victim was only three years old. Yesterday, the Pentagon Memorial was unveiled in a dedication ceremony attended by the victims' families. The memorial features steel benches on which each of the victims' names is inscribed. It looked as though it was going to rain in the afternoon, but my friend Rose and I decided to go anyway for our first visit to the memorial.
