Words from a mediocre author.

Last night I was wondering if I was stealing ideas from others, or were others stealing ideas from me. If you have cared to notice, the link to my 'novel' leads you to a blank page. That was supposed to be the place I would begin to post the first chapters of two stories I am writing.
But that will not be the case, as my fledgling novels share striking similarities with a few movies that have recently been released. Not that my work is not original, it only shares a few characteristics with these films, but I would rather not open myself up for any type of criticism, at least not at this time when my work is posted on an open forum for the first time ever.
I will instead begin to post the first chapter in a story about a young man who leaves home at age eighteen. Its a common premise, a boy turning into a man, and through these first years on his own he will learn a few of life's lessons. A few of these lessons will revolve around his troubles with alcohol, his money problems, adhering to a new life of strict discipline, conflicts with homosexuality, dealing with long-distance relationships, and he will come to terms with his hatred of telephones. You know, ordinary boy-becomes-a-man type stuff.
The first chapter will be posted as soon as Vice does my final editing (or improvements, as he would call it).
