Well, my son is now two months old. I've been peed on, pooped on, spit-up on, had my hair pulled, been scratched in the face and have enjoyed it all. I never imagined that motherhood would be so great and yet so tiresome. It's like having two jobs. I wouldn't trade it for anything. In the past two months, I was promoted and turned 24 years old. My son got his first shots and has gained 3lbs and 4 oz. and he's 2 inches longer. He's trying his best to have a conversation with me. He has a wonderful smile. No matter how bad my day at work is, when I go to pick him up from daycare and he smiles back at me I forget all about how bad the previous hours were. I hope to begin working on some more poetry soon and maybe even begin a short story.
My heart goes out to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. It’s really sad to see all the destruction in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. My family lives in lower Alabama and they were spared of the destruction of this last hurricane. I’m grateful too because they are still cleaning up from the last two. I had planned to go and visit my parents this holiday weekend, but with gas prices being what they are, it just didn’t seem like an equitable idea for only three days. I hope to see them next holiday.
Well until next time…
God Bless!
