This is my little spot on the web. My main goal with this website is to let people hear my music. It will give people an insight as to who I am.
I am a pianist by trade and I guess by association I know about guitar and a little about bass. I can play enough on the drums to poke my eye out. We won't go there.
I am in the process of learning how to record decent tracks digitally. I find it an interesting challenge. I don't have a properly treated room which adds to the challenge of getting good mixes. I guess that will come later. My Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) isn't too shabby and I am proud to say that I built it myself. I know that sounds lame because people build computers everyday, and this one isn't even the first one I have built. It is the first one I have built where everything works as it should or better! I haven't had any problems from this DAW. The DAW is the brain of my studio, ViceStudio. My DAW is always in the process of being upgraded as money permits. The next upgrade I will probably do is go back to running two hard drives. I used to run two drives but they were stolen from me! As it is right now, everything works much better than I ever expected even though I am using one hard drive. In the world of computers I have learned to never set my expectations too high… Really though, everything seems to be work smoothly. Here’s a breakdown of what's in ViceStudios currently:
I am still learning to master my instruments. It is a journey... My musical influences are varied. I primarily listen to Jazz, R&B, some Hip Hop, Contemporary Urban, and a little Rock. I listen to other stuff, but there are far too many categories to list. I would probably listen to just about anything if it sounded good. Although, I must admit country has never really tickled my fancy. Here's a sample of some artists I like:
Well now you know a little about me and my influences. There are many more, but this is just a small sampling. You can check out these artists here.
